Radosław Sojak

Husband, father, sociologist, postdoctoral researcher; Fulbright scholar at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, fellow of the Polish weekly “Polityka” within the program “Zostańcie z nami” (stay with us); author and co-author of dissertations Zagubiona rzeczywistość (Lost Reality, 2004 – written with Daniel Wicenty) and Paradoks antropologiczny (Anthropological Paradox, 2005 FNP monograph), Spełniona obietnica (Promise Fulfilled, 2014) and Arystokraci i rzemieślnicy (Aritsocrats and craftsmen, 2015 written with Łukasz Afeltowicz). He has worked for NCU’s Institute of Sociology since 1998. Unceasingly, he has been searching for theoretical holders which would facilitate understanding of the current social reality. He has been interested in the quality of public debate for as far as he can remember.

Andrzej Meler

A Nicolaus Copernicus University’s Institute of Sociology graduate. He received the Polish Sociological Association award for his master’s thesis, which focused on the analysis of media discourse on the Polish judiciary system. As a third year student he started participating in social and market research (Research Team “Pryzmat”, ASM Centrum Badań i Analiz, Pentor, F5 Konsulting). He worked as a specialist in research and analysis for Polska Press Group for ten years. His fields of interest cover the press and internet markets. Currently his research focuses on the media analysis at NCU’s Institute of Sociology.

Beata Królicka

Born in Bydgoszcz. A graduate of NCU’s Institute of Polish Philology. For many years she pursued career in publishing (media and sciences). Among other things, she worked as a copyreader and subeditor. Currently she is employed at the Faculty of Humanities at NCU in Toruń. She is a keen admirer of Pomerania and Kashubia regions of Poland. She lived in Chojnice for many years, a place in Pomerania, which she still dotes on. Definitely a cat person and an enthusiastic theatergoer.

Marta Serówka

Comes from Toruń, which she still strongly associates with. She studied at Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National-Louis University in Nowy Sącz. Thanks to her School and her professors she discovered a gene responsible for her critical analysis of reality and a perpetual desire for the search of truth. A fellow of Socrates Erasmus program in Denmark, as well as an intern for The European Commission Representation Office in Poland. Having finished her studies she travelled around the Balkans and worked there before she moved to live and work in Belgium, where she spent 10 years. She worked for the European Commission, analyzing the media and monitoring disinformation campaigns. She is interested in Public Relations. In her free time she enjoys climbing the mountains and photography.

Anna Piechocka

A Nicolaus Copernicus University’s Institute of Sociology graduate, where she worked in 2017 – 2018. As a student she was associated with the student research group at NCU’s Institute of Sociology as well as the research team “Pryzmat” where she acquired her first research experience. In her free time she enjoys reading fantasy books and watching serials. At the moment she is cooperating with NCU on a freelance basis.

 

Tomasz Jankowski

A graduate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. For 10 years he was connected with the Career Bureau of the university. A trainer of interpersonal competences. Since 2009 he has coordinated one of the first in Poland systematic research studies into the fates of graduates. An enthusiast of applying Business Intelligence solutions (eg. Tableau) in communicating data on the surrounding world. Since 2015 he has been making his business dreams come true in the university’s spin-off company. Currently he is holding the position of an analyst in the NCU system of quality.
